Blow Moulding Machine and Its Production Process

The Blow Moulding process though machine includes the simple steps that are found in Glass Moulding. That is, to make a tube (referred to as parison or preform) of polymer or resin and inflating the tube with compressed air at which the preform is placed within the mould cavity. The process is designed to obtain high volume and one-piece hollow objects.  If you are a plastic container manufacturer then this process is best for your business. And it will be very economical for you.

There are several different advantages of Blow Moulding including:
  1. It is cheaper than injection moulding
  2. Cost of Machinery will below as well
  3. By the blow moulding process, you can achieve the product in one piece which reduces your work to connect different pieces of one product like in the case of the injection moulding process.
The Blow Moulding Process includes 3 steps:

  1. Extrusion Blow Moulding
This process is highly used by manufacturers for the high production for plastic bottles. The  Extrusion blow moulding process contains the following steps:

  • Extrude the Parison (polymer tube)
  • Cut the parison’s top and seal its bottom so that the two halves come together.
  • The inflate the tube so that it can take the cavity shape.
  • At last, open the mould and remove the product.
    2. Injection Moulding
The injection blow molding process contains the injection of mold the prison instead of extrusion. It gives a low production rate than the extrusion process. The Injection  Moulding process contains the following steps:
  • The Parison is molded around the blowing rod by the injection.
  • Then the parison is transferred to a blow mould.
  • The parison is inflated.
  • At last, open the mold and remove the product.
       3. Stretch Blow Moulding
In this technique, the blowing rod is extending downward into the injection moulded parison which stretches the plastic and creates a more stressing polymer than injection blow moulding. The Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the most widely used material for plastic injection moulding. The Injection  Moulding process contains the following steps:
  • Injection Moulding
  • Stretching
  • Blowing
